The temporary door knob for the front door is removed and the permanent handle set is installed in its place.   This set, from Schlage, features a long curved handle and thumb lever to open the door.  A matching deadbolt lock is also installed.   A door knocker with integral peep-hole is hung at eye level and a satin kick plate is mounted at the bottom of the door.
